Henry Ford didn’t make the car ubiquitous by making the most innovative product out there. The Model-T Ford was a solid vehicle, but far from the fastest or most elegant out there. Its major trait? It was affordable. Ford created the market for mass produced automobiles. The Currie Electro Drive is the Model-T of battery powered bikes.
SD Powered Bikes offers standard battery powered bikes built upon the design offered by Currie Technologies. Bicycles feature standard 24-volt batteries that are interchangeable between models sold. All bicycles feature a 450-watt motor and 26” wheel design. Below is a short video that demonstrates a little bit about the bike. The motor is quieter than a comparable gasoline engine, and the acceleration routinely beats cars from a stop (although, they’ll overtake us fairly quickly). All motor control is through the intuitive thumb throttle shown.
